The United States Research Software Engineer Association (us-rse.org) is a community-driven effort bringing together people who write and contribute to research software within the United States. The organization aims to build a connective, supportive, and diverse community of individuals from universities, laboratories, knowledge institutes, companies, and other enterprises.
The User Experience (#wg-ux) working group brings together individuals to share experiences and advocate for increased awareness and adoption of user experience (UX) methods in research software engineering. The group meets monthly on Zoom for open discussions and often facilitates other special events.
This community's channel in the US-RSE Slack is an active space for discussion and collaboration. It is open to any US-RSE member (which is free).

Consortium for the Advancement of Scientific Software (cass.community) is a federation of member organizations committed to the stewardship and advancement of the current and future ecosystem of scientific computing software. Members support specific scientific communities or provide crosscutting capabilities for scientific software stewardship. Member organizations coordinate and cooperate through the Consortium to maximize benefit to the ecosystem as a whole.
The User/Developer Experience (UDX) working group brings together groups and individuals interested in the science of scientific software development and use. The UDX WG organizes bi-monthly webinars to improve understanding of how users and developers interact with and experience scientific software.
STRUDEL
STRUDEL is an open-source, open-science community building user experience design resources for scientific software teams. The community provides a variety of opportunities for a range of research software engineers to contribute to a growing resource.
STRUDEL's primary product is a scientific design system. This design system is distinct from commercial design systems by providing a core set of templates for building scientific web interfaces around common data activities, known as Task Flows.
The community also supports an exploratory Planning Framework, Strudel Bot. This is an AI advisor plus educational materials to help scientific software team leads strategize, design, develop and evaluate for high quality experiences for users.
